The eldest daughter of President Obama, Malia, clearly isn’t the type of teenager who’s merely Instagramming her life away until her dad leaves office. Malia Obama is career-minded, and she’s eyeing the entertainment business. So, when the 17-year-old — who just celebrated her birthday on July 4 — was spotted on the New York City set of HBO’s Girls, it was’t a very big surprise. However, it was a big delight.
According to the Root, Obama was seen delivering coffee to the set, as interns are wont to do, which means that the internationally-recognized teen is not getting any kind of special treatment. Not that she would want any; this is her second entertainment internship in two years. She was a production assistant on CBS’ Halle Berry drama Extant last summer.
As an intern, it’s unlikely that Obama will make it on camera, but maybe the Voice of a Generation herself, Lena Dunham, can pulls a few strings if she’s interested.
