James Corden shared his love of a good cry with Mark Duplass on The Late Late Show last night, along with guests Judd Apatow and Cobie Smulders. Duplass takes his love of a good cry so far that he actually “saves” movies for when he’s feeling particularly vulnerable, saying that a good cry is “a release that tops masturbation” (which Corden doesn’t find to be mutually exclusive; a valid point). The panel then talked about some of their favorite sadness porn, ie., Steve Carell’s last episode of The Office, the first 10 minutes of Up, Inside Out, etc.
Duplass seems like a pretty intense guy, as Corden also brought up his love-hate relationship with donuts, because Duplass is apparently an emotional eater; something he’s worked hard on in therapy. Corden is of course sympathetic to his situation, so he brings a giant tray of donuts on stage so Duplass can confront his demons on national television.
