While fans of Orange is the New Black wait patiently for the release of season 4 next week, a certain media mogul and former federal inmate won’t be watching Piper continue to reach prison crime boss status. In a one-on-one hilarious interview between Chelsea Handler and Martha Stewart, Stewart (Who went by the nickname ‘M. Diddy’ while in the big house) admitted to Handler that she’s not a big fan of the show. Stewart said on Chelsea, “When you lived Orange is the New Black, the real characters are better.”
Stewart, who spent five months in federal prison back in 2004-2005 for insider trading might want to reconsider watching the new season of OITNB, because of a certain inmate named Judy King who will be getting acclimated to the harsh climate of Litchfield. King is a famous prim and proper television chef and the character is clearly a nod to Stewart.
Handler asked about Stewart’s television watching habits while in prison.
“In prison, it was BET television at all times. I had to get up really early to watch the news. So if I wanted to watch the stock market and stuff like that, I had to get up really early and watch it by myself.”
Handler also asked about what she watches now, and if you have a chance to attend one of her famous parties in The Hamptons, make sure you don’t talk about Game of Thrones, because despite working with Peter Dinklage, she has never watched the show. She isn’t a fan of Breaking Bad either, calling the characters “ugly people,” or The Borgias, because she “can’t stands torture”.
