Narcos is an upcoming Netflix original series about law enforcement trying to take down Pablo Escobar and his Medellin cartel in 1980s Colombia. It stars, among others, Pedro Pascal — the Red Viper from Game of Thrones — as a DEA agent. The Red Viper taking down Pablo Escobar. Could work. Or not. Pascal has a history of showing up in TV shows that play fast and loose with the source material. Maybe in this show Escobar leaves the drug game behind and takes up tennis. Maybe he wins Wimbledon.
Earlier today, Netflix announced that the series will premiere on August 28, and released the above teaser, which depicts South America as a big pile of cocaine. I wonder what they’re trying to say here. Could mean anything, really.
