Louis C.K. is a busy man these days. In addition to Louie‘s fifth season and producer Pamela Adlon’s new show, the comedian is set to debut his latest comedy special, Louis C.K. Live From the Comedy Store very soon:
The special will made be available to fans first in coming weeks on his website, LouisCK.net, after his run of shows at Madison Square Garden. C.K. is the first comedian to sell out three shows for the same tour in Madison Square Garden history; tickets for a fourth show just went on sale. He has been a trailblazer in offering his content online, starting with his Live at the Beacon Theater special in December 2011.
The hour-long comedy special, which will be written and directed by C.K., will air on FX this spring. C.K. and M. Blair Breard will serve as executive producers of the special, which is being produced by C.K.’s production company, Pig Newton. (Via Variety)
Louis, or “C.K.” if you prefer, adds his latest special to a long, award-winning list of consistently funny material. According to FX:
Louis C.K. Live at the Comedy Store is C.K.’s sixth hour-long standup comedy special and the second to air on FX following Louis C.K. Live At the Beacon Theater in May of 2012. Louis C.K. won an Emmy Award in 2013 for his special Louis C.K. Oh My God and an Emmy Award in 2012 for his special Louis C.K. Live at the Beacon Theater. He won a Grammy Award for his comedy album Hilarious.
Louis might have high hopes for the 2015–2016 awards season. Think bigger than the Emmys and the Grammys. How does “Louis C.K., Nobel Laureate” sound?
