As we discussed when the trailer appeared on the Internet like manna from Bad TV heaven, Olympic swimmer and noted dull knife Ryan Lochte has a reality show titled What Would Ryan Lochte Do? that will be airing on E! in the near future. And because Ryan Lochte has a reality show that will be airing on E! in the near future, he’s currently out doing a press tour to promote it. By doing interviews. On live television. Where he has to come up with answers off the cuff. What could possibly go wrong?
Well, as it turns out, a lot. Lochte appeared on Good Day Philly yesterday morning, and after a brief interview that featured long silences and sentences like “My philosophy is … if you’re a man at night, you gotta be a man in the morning” tumbling out of his pretty face, anchors Mike Jerrick and Sheinelle Jones said goodbye and proceeded to mock him and die of laughter for a full minute of screen time. Especially Jones, who was reduced to such a cackling mess that pretty much the only sentences she could get out were some variation of “At least he’s good looking.” It’s … it’s actually kind of mean and unprofessional.
Oh great. Now I feel bad for Ryan Lochte.
