Oscar winners Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon will star in HBO’s new limited series Big Little Lies. The project was picked up by the cable network after a bidding war with Netflix and according to Deadline, it was the highest-profile limited series package to be shopped around since True Detective:
Big Little Lies is based on the book of the same name by Australian author Liane Moriarty. It is described as a subversive comedy which tells the tale of three mothers of kindergartners whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder.
Murderous mothers at a kindergarten? Sign me up! The series will be written and executive produced by David E Kelley (Ally McBeal, The Practice, The Crazy Ones) and will probably hit the air sometime next year.
