Details keep on trickling in for American Horror Story: Freak Show, and the latest news is that Patti LaBelle has joined the cast. She’ll be joining Michael Chiklis, Wes Bentley and John Carroll Lynch who are all making their AHS debuts this season, hopefully/possibly (possfully?) in addition to Neil Patrick Harris — if that dream casting works out.
TV Guide has some basic details on LaBelle’s role:
LaBelle will play the mother of Gabourey Sidibe’s character and a local townsperson who begins to discover the murderous secrets of Twisty the clown killer. Season 4 of AHS will focus on the last freak show in America circa 1952.
Patti LaBelle is wonderful, and this is perfect casting. Of course, she’s almost definitely going to be horribly murdered by an evil clown, so that’s kind of a shame. But perfect casting nonetheless.
