Paul Rudd is a certified geek and that’s one of the many reasons why we like him so much. He’s also the actor that your grandmother doesn’t remember the name of, but told you that she thought he was cute in that “Ant-Guy” movie. In an interview with Vulture at the Tribeca Film Festival, Rudd took a break from promoting his new adult animated film, Nerdland to discuss some nerdy idiosyncrasies of his own.
Rudd revealed that his television watching habits pretty much mirror your grandparents. Rudd is absolutely crazy over the long-running PBS program, Antiques Roadshow, and he has a lot to say about it. Rudd watches both the UK version of the program, which debuted in 1979 and the US version which has been on the air since 1997. Rudd told Vulture:
“I like the original British one, but I actually prefer the American version. I like learning about all of these things that people own; learning about different kinds of furniture and pottery and antiques. The appraisals are super interesting! I like seeing what people bring and and I like hearing about what people discover in their attic and what things have been passed down in people’s families. I’m fascinated by historical memorabilia, so I tend to like that show.”
We’re guessing Rudd likes to come home after a stressful day, make a nice hot cup of Sanka, pop a Wether’s Original in his mouth, and turn on Antiques Roadshow until he falls asleep on the couch at 8 p.m.
