Rob Riggle is set to co-star with UPROXX favorite Rob Lowe in The Pro, a new show on NBC. Via The Hollywood Reporter:
The prolific comedian has been tapped to star opposite the Parks and Recreation alum in NBC’s comedy pilot The Pro, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The single-camera comedy is set in and around a tennis and golf club, and stars Lowe as Ben Bertrahm, a former doubles champion who is reunited with his ex-partner Bobby Welch (Riggle) after a public feud that left them both floundering in life.
Two funny actors facing off in a tennis and golf club with big egos? I’m down with that. I’ve tried to play golf many times, but all of my clubs tend to find themselves wrapped around a tree.
For Riggle, this marks the comedian’s latest TV gig. His credits include Adult Swim’s NTSF: SD: SUV, Drunk History, Modern Family as well as features 21 Jump Street and its upcoming sequel; Dumb and Dumber To. He’s repped by WME, Principato-Young and Sloane Offer. He also was the subject of a proposed Modern Family spinoff that would have centered on his overconfident real estate agent Gil Thorpe which has now been put on hold.
Riggle can be in anything and make me laugh. I was watching a re-run of Happy Endings and he was just swell in it. Now, I miss that show. Why do all the things I love have to leave me? Everyone needs to jump on board this one.
Or else.
