The first season of Schitt’s Creek debuted on the cable network Pop TV last year to much critical acclaim… and its rapidly growing following is already clamoring for season two.
No surprise, given the series stars comedy powerhouses Chris Elliott (Get A Life) as well as Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara (Best In Show, A Mighty Wind), who play wealthy city-slickers, Johnny and Moira Rose — a couple that gets all their assets seized by the government.
Well, all except for the titular town of Schitt’s Creek — a podunk little town they purchased in 1991 for their son… as a joke. Now, they have to live there with their two grown children Alexis and David. Suffice to say, no one is thrilled with this.
The fish-out-of-water comedy could be described as something akin to Arrested Development meets Deliverance, as the Rose family is forced to deal with their new surroundings in Schitt’s Creek, residing in two adjoining rooms in the town’s particularly seedy (yet only) motel.
While scrupulously attempting to find a way out of their situation, Johnny does the best he can to keep his family’s spirits high. But that doesn’t always go so well as you can see in the video above.
When an opportunity to get out of Schitt’s Creek does come along, however, the family jumps all over it. Of course, given the name of both the town and the series, that works out pretty much how you’d expect it would.
