How long has the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade been a thing anyway? 100 years or so at this point? Seems like it. And it has no real signs of stopping.
If it wasn’t clear, we need a change. Some other parade to watch while pretending to enjoy our families before gorging on turkey, potatoes, and cranberry sauce. Luckily, the good folks at Late Night With Seth Meyers wholeheartedly agree. And they — along with electronic store chain P.C. Richard & Son — have an alternative parade that’s sure to invoke the same kind of delight and family fun as all those Macy’s floats and balloons do.
Do you like angry MTA operators? Inflatable rats placed in front of non-union stores? New York mayor Bill DeBlasio fighting a bunch of angry cab drivers in a steel cage? Then this new Thanksgiving parade tradition is just for you. It has all the charm of Macy’s yearly tradition, but more of a mean streak.
