You know, commenters, you and I have never really talked. I love what you do down there below these posts. I just read your stuff and I laugh and laugh. Let me run this by you, because you’re sharp guys and gals. We’re thinking about improving the comments section. How would you feel about making a change? Specifically, we’re adding these new features:
- A universal login that lets you comment on all the Uproxx sites with having to sign in separately to each one.
- Your own commenter profile, with easily uploaded avatars.
- The ability to reply to or “like” comments left by others, which will really streamline our political flame wars.
- The ability to sign in with Twitter or Facebook.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! As explained The Cajun Boy at the Uproxx flagship, there’s more to come, including the ability to direct message each other (you poor, poor lady commenters), threaded replying, and the ability to earn awards and badges and stuff for various achievements. And as if ALL THAT wasn’t enough, the Gamma Squad guys are giving away a… uh… a something. I don’t know what it is, but it’s free!
[UPDATE: The Uproxx home page is also offering prizes, reaching into the hundreds of dollars! Me? Still offering bupkis.]
As someone who spends entirely too much time in the various Uproxx comments sections, I’m very much looking forward to these changes. I think it will really simplify things and help create/grow a vibrant community amongst the readership. So sign in, set up your profile, tinker around with all the new features, and let us know what you think. Even you, people who read the posts but never comment. Get involved!
(*reads 7000 comments about how much the new features “suck” or are not working properly on Day 1*)
Oh, right. The Internet.
