Some people have great memories of high school, but for most people, grades 9-12 couldn’t end soon enough. The hormones, the awkward encounters, the cliques and the never-ending need to be “cool” was a struggle that’s best left forgotten. Even the in-crowd and cool kids had awkward moments that would no doubt haunt them, even if they were unknown to those who looked up to them. Take Dwayne Johnson, who plays the geeky, out-of-place kid grown up into a badass in Central Intelligence. He knows the pain. Now, The Rock and Jimmy Fallon display those cringe-worthy times as they return to senior prom. It’s bad. Very bad.
Yes, Dwayne Johnson looks ridiculous with his massive frame bulging out of his tux. Check out the braces. These two are supposed to be the cool guys, but then they devolve into shell-shocked bros that can only utter a relatively ancient meme as every response. Ermahgerd!
The only thing more awkward than a dork at senior prom is a failed comedy sketch. Props to Jimmy and Dwayne for trying, but the audience and the YouTube commenters (a usually mellow bunch) couldn’t be more apathetic to the ironically lame attempt to be lame. It’s a weird ouroboros of silliness that only Jimmy Fallon can be counted on to deliver.
