After breaking the selfie world record at the San Andreas premiere, Dwayne Johnson appeared on The Graham Norton Show in the U.K. to promote both the film and his upcoming HBO series Ballers. When Norton brought up Johnson’s professional wrestling days, the topic quickly shifted to The Rock’s signature raised eyebrow and the iconic catchphrases that came with it.
Norton asked about how “It doesn’t matter” came about. Obviously it’s all in the execution, as you simply just have someone ask an important question and immediately inform that doofus how inconsequential the answer is by yelling, “IT DOESN’T MATTER!”
When the other famous catchphrase came up, however, Johnson took a microphone and proceeded to walk everyone through the proper gait, inflection, and bravado it takes to deliver the line, “If you smell what The Rock is cooking!”
Oh, there’s also a bunch of tongue-wagging involved:
You’re welcome.
