Comedy Central has renewed “Tosh.0” for a fourth season, no surprise given the show’s edgy content and excellent ratings (it averages 4.2 million viewers an episode, making it the most-watched show on the network).
The network has picked up 26 episodes for 2012 (though that is down a couple hours from this year, which had 30 episodes).
“Daniel is still trying to figure out what his show is and we thought it would only be right to give him another season to work it out, especially since so many millions of people are watching it,” said Comedy Central programming chief Kent Alterman. [Inside TV]
Okay, this will be the last time “Tosh.0” getting renewed is news. If clip shows and talk shows perform well, they just keep going in perpetuity. The idea that Comedy Central would think twice about renewing their biggest show is preposterous, as is the notion of “seasons” for “Tosh.” “Ooohh, it’s one from the casual jacket season!”–Nobody.
