Every family has their own Christmas movie tradition. Some people watch A Christmas Story for 24 straight hours, others need at least one viewing of It’s a Wonderful Time every December. Growing up, this little Jew was only interested in one film: The Muppet Christmas Carol, which despite our NEW YORK RULES PHILLY DROOLS rivalry, is one thing Danger and I agree on. Because The Muppet Christmas Carol is the best. It’s got Michael Caine dancing, Michael Caine singing, Statler and Waldorf as ghosts singing a song about killing people, rats working as accountants, skating penguins, “Fozziwig,” and Bean Bunny. Poor, poor Bean Bunny.
It’s also not a movie, and this is a TV website, but whatever: The Muppet Christmas Carol should air non-stop for an entire week before Christmas on the Disney Channel, with commercial breaks showing nothing but Dog with a Blog promos. That’s the best way to make it feel like Christmas.
