Community (NBC, 8 p.m.) – Part one of two. Tonight’s an important episode. It’s the first time since returning from their hiatus that “Community” has to air against “The Big Bang Theory.” So, by watching, you’re basically saying, “I hate you, Sheldon,” and that’s a good thing. It sounds like a funny one, too: Shirley, Pierce, and Britta aim to close the newly opened Subway in Greendale, while the Dean asks Troy and Abed to build the world’s biggest bed-linen fort, with the BFFs disagreeing on how it should be done. Plus! John Goodman!
Missing (ABC, 8 p.m.) – Ashley Judd is the world’s most anonymous famous actress, right? Everyone knows of her, but I bet most people wouldn’t be able to name five of her films. Even after being spotted Double Jeopardy and Kiss the Girls.
30 Rock/Up All Night (NBC, 8:30/9:30 p.m.) – No new “Office” again. But Stevie Nicks guest stars on “Up All Night,” so you’ll probably hear Maya Rudolph sing “Landslide,” if that’s your thing. Your mom will love it.
Punk’d (MTV, 10 p.m.) – Series premiere (kind of). The answer to the question, “What’s a TV show from the 2000s that you have no fond memories of?” Replacing Ashton Kutcher with Justin Bieber as host is like having kidney stones instead of hemorrhoids. (Also: Kutcher’s What Happens in Vegas is airing at 10 p.m. on FX, the timeslot that “Archer” had just last week. I hate that man so much.)
The Pauly D Show (MTV, 10:30 p.m.) – Series premiere. MTV’s punk’ing us, right? Right…?
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Tracy Morgan and Jim Rome (oh good) on Letterman; Piers Morgan and Liam Hemsworth on Leno; Kristen Schaal and Carson Daly on Kimmel; Susan Sarandon and Adriana Lima on Fallon; Eliza Coupe and Christian Slater on Conan; Rachel Maddow on Stewart; and Peter Beinart on Colbert.
