Yo! The Story of MTV Raps (VH1, 10 p.m.) – If Who’s the Man? (“the first hip-hop whodunnit!”) followed this special, it would be an amazing night of TV. Instead, it’s Wild Wild West, which is totally VH1 f*cking with us.
Take Me Out (Fox, 8 p.m.) – Series premiere. Oh good, a dating reality series hosted by George Lopez. That sounds like a mega-hit. Plus, considering the host, you can expect plenty of top-notch jokes like, “Welcome to Take Me Out, or as it’s called in Mexico, TAKE ME INTO AMERICA.” Classic Lopez.
The Choice (Fox, 9 p.m.) – “Celebrities looking for love include reality-TV star Paul ‘Pauly D’ Del Vecchio, musician Romeo, athlete Jeremy Bloom, and actor Jason Cook.” /burns TV
Saving Hope (NBC, 9 p.m.) – Series premiere. “The baby from Raising Hope is now all grown up and working as a prostitute on the mean streets of Cleveland, until she meets a mysterious stranger who claims he knew her deadbeat dad and can help her start anew. Can she be saved…FROM HERSELF?” is what I wish this show was about. Instead, it’s a medical drama about a surgeon in a coma. I know, I know, it’s seriously boring sounding.
Eagleheart (Adult Swim, 12 a.m.) – Oh thank God. This show is like finding a Thin Mint in a box otherwise filled with Trefoils. To simplify the analogy: “Eagleheart,” good; everything else that’s not about ODB on tonight, bad.
LATE-NIGHT GUESTS: Bill Murray on Letterman; Catherine Zeta-Jones on Leno; Ed Norton and Leighton Meester on Kimmel; Chris Rock, Cat Deeley, and Carly Rae Jepsen on Fallon; Malin Akerman and Chris Hemsworth on Conan; Edward Conrad on Stewart; and Regina Spektor on Colbert.
