The Returned (Sundance, 9 p.m.) — I know almost nothing about this French supernatural show, other than it’s about zombies and supposed to be fantastic. (It’s like The Walking Dead, but arty!) Rectify and Top of the Lake were great, so if The Returned is as excellent as everyone says it is, Sundance could become the next AMC.
It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (ABC, 8 p.m.) — Obviously.
SNL Halloween (NBC, 8 p.m.) — Old Halloween SNL clips? That’s good. No Parks and Rec? That’s bad.
The Crazy Ones (CBS, 9 p.m.) — I want to like this show, I really do, but then Robin Williams goes off on one of his sweaty 15 minute rambles and NOPE. As for the equally disappointing The Millers: “Nathan and Debbie find out what really happened to their pet parrot.” Also, NOPE.
Elementary (CBS, 10 p.m.) — Holmes looks into an invasion at Captain Gregson’s house. I bet the parrot did it.
Scandal (ABC, 10 p.m.) — More episodes with Lisa Kudrow means more reminders of the great The Comeback.
Tim and Eric’s Bedtime Stories (Adult Swim, midnight) — This special was supposed to be just that, a special, but Adult Swim wisely picked it up as a full-on anthology series. In tonight’s episode, Tim Heidecker, Eric Wareheim, and Zach Galifianakis are given $1,000 each by their dead grandfather. The catch: they have to live in a haunted house. I wish this trope was real.
LATE NIGHT GUESTS: Harrison Ford on Letterman; Matthew McConaughey and Eli Roth on Leno; Mindy Kaling on Kimmel; Ben Kingsley on Ferguson; Kerry Washington and Jason Schwartzman on Fallon; Rachel McAdams and Norman Reedus on Conan; Chelsea Peretti on Holmes; Mark Fainaru-Wada on Stewart; and Bill Bryson on Colbert.
