Just keep telling yourself that it’s all for a good cause. It’ll help you get over the sight of Today Show host Matt Lauer and Kathie Lee Gifford locking lips after “Lady and the Tramping” a twizzler as a part of a new autism awareness campaign. It’s called, “The Twizzler Challenge”, and it started with Willie Geist and Uzo Aduba during Comedy Central’s Night of Too Many Stars thanks to a twitter request. After that, Meredith Vieira and Geist kept things moving on her show, and now we’re here, wondering where in the world Matt Lauer’s mind was when he was tasting boxed wine and Frank Gifford on Kathie Lee’s lips.
It’s all for a good cause, it’s all for a good cause. And it’s only just beginning. Gifford challenged Regis Philbin to devour a twizzler (or a red vine, whatever) in the direction of Hoda Kotb, and Lauer challenged Mad Men stars Jon Hamm and John Slattery to touch faces over rope candy because Matt Lauer is for the people.
