Last week’s You’re the Worst, which “dealt with mental illness in a sensitive and honest way that isn’t often seen on television,” was arguably the show’s best episode yet. It’s going to be hard to top Jimmy unintentionally quoting The Lion King, but creator Stephen Falk is bringing out the big guns with Sunday Funday, part two. This time, it’s personal (and on Halloween).
Falk told Zap2It, “Halloween episodes are dumb. You know, who cares? But the idea of watching them not only go through Sunday Funday again, but in costume, just was too much to resist.” Gretchen is Daenerys Targaryen, Lindsay is a sailor, Edgar is The Situation from Jersey Shore, and Jimmy is… something obscure and British. I don’t know what Vernon is dressed as, but it’s likely one of the guys from LMFAO. Soaked in Trash Juice.
While season two’s Sunday Funday will again dive into the “really visceral stuff and different LA hipster landmark-y kind of things,” it also will include “lots of gore and screams and weird sh*t and dope costumes” [according to Falk].
“I went to one [extreme haunted house] when I was in high school. It was no-holds barred. They’re allowed to touch you, and they’re frightening as sh*t,” Desmin Borges, who plays Edgar, recalls. “We did a really good job of recreating that. In some of the scenes, I was f*cking scared. I know they were just extras with masks on or whatever, but I was scared as sh*t.” (Via Zap2It)
