It’s been almost two weeks since Steve Harvey elicited a collective “LOL” from the internet after flubbing the winner of the Miss Universe pageant. Now that some time has passed, winner turned runner up Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, has had some time to think about what happened. However, her attitude has decidedly changed from “everything happens for a reason” to “everything happens for a reason, and that reason is Steve Harvey is out to get me and my country.”
Gutierrez tells TMZ that she believes the blunder was orchestrated by pageant organizers to capitalize off of the racial tension between Colombia and the Philippines to boost ratings, stating, “If that was the goal, they succeeded.”
Miss Colombia also thinks the antics were a slap in the face to her heritage, saying, “It was very humiliating for me, but also for the whole country and for all the people not only from Colombia but the other Latinos that were in the auditorium.”
Miss Colombia is totally a Steve Harvey truther. That could be it, but counterpoint: Maybe Steve Harvey just really sucks at reading ballot cards. We may never know the truth.
For what it’s worth, Gutierrez also took the time to state for the record that she has no interest in Vivid’s $1 million porn offer. She says that her “parents would kill her.”
