All The Food You Missed Over Coachella’s First Weekend

Music festivals have come a long way from the dirty camping trips of mid-90s Lilith Fairs. Today you get a parade of supermodels on the job, super groups reuniting, and super foods at the ready. For the Uproxx Life crew, that last one is our jam — especially at Coachella.

We love food around here. So the chance to eat a path through a music festival sounds right up our alley. The food this year will not disappoint — from the simplest slices of pizza to a sugar bomb on a stick (in the form of a dipped waffle).

Some of our favorite chefs have popped up at Coachella this year, too. It’s probably worth standing in line for season 14 Top Chef winner Brooke Williamson’s Playa or some of Mamacita Cantina’s Peruvian burritos.

Of course nostalgia is rearing its head with some fruity Rice Krispies churros and what looks like a terrine of loaded tater tots and fries.

Coachella doesn’t disappoint on the iconic Cali-food front either. Because no trip to California is complete without a stop for tacos or a loaded In-N-Out Burger.

There’s this rad looking “chicken larb” bahn mi available from LA’s Phorage.

Bludso’s BBQ (an Uproxx fav) is offering up Texas-sized platters of smoked meats with all the fixin’s over at the Beer Barn.

If meat isn’t your thing, then you can hit up Southern Fried Vegan for some plant-forward goodness.

It seems being well inland and in the desert didn’t stop music lovers from hitting up the lobster mac n’ cheese.

Yes, this is a grilled cheese with cheese sticks. Mind officially blown.

And this waffle breakfast sandwich looks like a cheesy bomb of deliciousness.

There’s nothing like a gold-encrusted doughnut to better encapsulate the totality of western privilege it takes to hold a massive festival (with green grass) in a dry dessert.
