Molly Schuyler Shattered Kobayashi’s World Record At Wing Bowl 22

Back in 2012, professional competitive eating icon Takeru Kobayashi set a new world record for chicken wings, as he scarfed down 337 to claim that year’s top prize. All in all, that was a very important event and record, because Jenna Jameson was in attendance, and I’ve always believed that you can’t pull a much classier crowd than with the former queen of porn. But much like any record, Kobayashi’s feat was destined to be broken. Many thought that it would be one of the men at this year’s WIP 94 Sportsradio Wing Bowl 22 in Philadelphia, perhaps even Eagles center Jason Kelce.

But just as President Obama spoke of establishing pay equality for women in the workplace during his State of the Union address, Molly Schuyler was looking to level the playing field in competitive eating today. With 363 wings in just 30 minutes, Schuyler not only became this year’s Wing Bowl champion, but she absolutely wasted Kobayashi’s record.

“She’s pretty good, but I don’t think she’s good with bones,” said the guy who you’d specifically expect to make that comment. Regardless, Schuyler is a 5-foot-7, 120-pound mother of four, and she just took down the nation’s biggest wing-eating competition. It’s a woman’s world, fellas. We’re just living in it.
