Watch This 11-Year-Old Son Of A Fallen Police Officer Throw An Amazing Ceremonial Pitch

Get ready to rally for this exceptional young man. His name is Tyler Martin. He’s only 11 years old, and his father — Houston police officer Richard Martin — was killed on May 18 in the line of duty.

Tyler dreams of playing Major League Baseball one day. He was unable to speak at his father’s funeral, but he wrote down a promise, which was read for all to hear: “I will be a good kid and adult. I will follow my dreams and play hard in the Major Leagues, then I will follow in your footsteps in being a police officer.”

Tyler threw the first ceremonial pitch before Monday’s Astros game. Several of Richard Martin’s fellow officers stood along the foul lines to support Tyler. The young boy threw his pitch, which was caught by batting champion Jose Altuve. Outfielder George Springer and Altuve offered Tyler words of advice and posed for photos with the young boy, who beamed with pride.

Damn good pitch, son.
