UFC Fight Night 35 Live Discussion: Luke Rockhold Vs. Costas Philippou

Tonight, the UFC returns to Georgia for the first time since UFC 145 in Atlanta back in 2012. This card is completely devoid of the kind of star power associated with a marquee title fight, but I think UFC Fight Night 35, live on Fox Sports 1, has the potential to be fun.

In the main event, two middleweights coming off losses match up, as Luke Rockhold and his perfect coif of hair take on Costas Philippou in a fight to determine who inches up the 185-pound rankings, which is currently log-jammed at the top with a trio of murderous Brazilians. In the co-main, another pair of middleweights square off, with Lorenz “The Monsoon” Larkin taking on Brad Tavares in what should either be a fun kickboxing match, or an awkward grappling-heavy affair between two guys not known for their ground skills.

Elsewhere on the card, there are some intriguing match ups in the lower weight classes, including a patented ‘tall versus small’ fight between Cole “Magrinho” Miller and Sam Sicilia, plus, the most fun division, flyweight, has two fights, one of which features one of my new favorites, Alp “Turkish Delight” Ozkilic throwing down against the debuting Louis “Da Last Samurai” Smolka.

Join Burnsy and myself for an entertaining night of fights (and make fun of our incorrect predictions here). Early prelims are on the UFC’s Fight Pass system starting at 4:00 PM ET, with the regular prelims moving to Fox Sports 1 at 5:00 PM ET, and the main card staying on FS1 at 7:00PM ET.

I want y’all to comment clean, comment hard, now make ’em yuk!
