Yesterday, we shared some of the photos Entertainment Weekly snagged while on the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and they’ve now released an interview with Ben Affleck in which he likens Batman to “the American version of Hamlet.”
As much as we’d like to talk about Batman all day (because he’s Batman), Affleck also talked about playing Daredevil, something he’s expressed regret about in the past.
“Daredevil didn’t work, at all. If I wanted to go viral I would be less polite,” says the actor. “That was before people realized you could make these movies and make them well. There was a cynical sense of ‘Put a red leather outfit on a guy, have him run around, hunt some bad guys, and cash the check.'”
They’re presumably putting more thought into Batman than that, and Affleck explained to EW what his interpretation of Batman will bring: “He’s at the end of his run and maybe the end of his life. There’s this sort of world-weariness to it.”
World-weariness you say?
