Well, this doesn’t happen too often, does it? In fact, the last time it happened was in 2011 when Tommy Milone slapped a dinger in his first plate appearance. Detroit Tigers pitcher Daniel Norris cemented his first at-bat with a 419-foot homer. A two-run shot that made a bit of history for Norris and the organization as well:
Daniel Norris with a 419-foot HR in his first at-bat. He's the first Tiger to hit a HR in his first at-bat since Reggie Sanders in 1974.

Daniel Norris is now the first Tigers pitcher with a HR and a BB in the same game since Earl Wilson in 1970, and only the 14th since WWI.

Pretty neat stuff, but it’s apparently not the first time Norris has hit a homer — even if said homer didn’t count. During batting practice before a game against the Cubs, Norris broke a long ball off of Wrigley Field’s scoreboards.
