More details have emerged surrounding the civil suit levied against Derrick Rose.
In court documents obtained by TMZ, the Chicago Bulls superstar appeals to his accuser’s state of mind before and after the incident in question to submit that the sexual interactions between he, she, and his co-defendants were consensual. Furthermore, Rose claims the victim first grew irritated with him long after the alleged rape because she felt he owed her money and wouldn’t respond to her text messages.
Here’s TMZ:
Rose has now filed docs of his own in which he claims the accuser “consented to sexual interaction with more than one co-defendant on more than one occasion, consented to sexual interactions on the day in question, and invited the defendants to her apartment and buzzed them in.”
Rose says things were so cool the following day — the accuser casually had a cup of coffee with her roommate in the morning after the sex … and headed into work for a full shift…
In the docs, Rose says the woman only began to get upset with him a few weeks or months later because she felt she should have been reimbursed for one of the sex toys she bought and used during the night in question.
Rose says the woman got even angrier with him because he started ignoring her texts.
News of the civil suit first broke late last month. Rose and two friends have been accused of “slipping a drug” into his ex-girlfriend’s drink with “the aim of raping her,” then driving to her house and “gang-raping her while she was incapacitated.”
Rose’s spokesperson vehemently denied the claims immediately after they were made public, and the 2011 MVP reaffirmed that stance at Chicago’s media day. “I’m very confident that I will be proven innocent,” he said.
