By most metrics, alternative radio gods Faith No More are old men. Most of the members are looking at 50 in their rearview mirrors, making them positively ancient by rock ‘n’ roll standards. Rather than let other people point this out to them, though, FNM put their age on display in the music video for “Sunny Side Up.” Mike Patton and Co’s words are put in the mouths of a band rocking the ever-loving sh*t out of a nursing home. (Bonus points: no one’s orange juice was defiled.)
The John Lynch-directed video helps the band sidestep any jokes about their fans being retirement age — not to mention the idea of a bunch of old people tripping on their nurse-approved meds to a raging show in an assisted living facility is just an all-around winner.
