(Spoilers and theories for season six ahead.)

As we’ve talked about before, Morgan (Lennie James) has, time and time again this season, behaved in ways that suggest he’s not long for the world of The Walking Dead. He kicks too much ass. He believes in the sacredness of life too much. And the audience has gotten too attached to him. Characters on The Walking Dead need to either adapt to the harshness of their surroundings or die, and Morgan just seems too good to fit in. His mentor, Eastman (John Carroll Lynch), who taught him everything he knows, already lost his life trying to save Morgan, so wouldn’t it be fitting for Morgan to do the same? Sure, Morgan probably won’t get bitten protecting the lone Wolf, but he still might lose it sticking his neck out for what he believes in.

And who better to pull that trigger than Carol? She’s adapted to her surroundings to the utmost level, willing to take out anyone who threatens the group. Carol has grown from a battered wife, afraid of her abusive husband, to someone who marches into a cannibalistic community and single-handedly saves her group. She doesn’t believe in “saving” anyone who’s already too far gone in her eyes, and Morgan might fit the criteria. We’ve never seen one good character kill another major good character, and that would set the internet aflame even more than possibly manipulative camera work. Is The Walking Dead setting us up for its most shocking twist yet? Do you think Carol will kill Morgan?
