The Raptors Spoiled DeMar DeRozan’s Game-Winning 30-Footer With A Timeout

DeMar DeRozan pulled up for a running 30-footer off his right leg with just over one second left in a tie game against the Charlotte Hornets. Swish, of course. But the shot didn’t count.

Why? Kyle Lowry – who you can clearly see in the right side of the shot above – had called timeout just before the ball left DeRozan’s hands, leading to a final possession with .7 seconds remaining that ended with a miss and overtime. What a unique way to spoil a wild fourth quarter comeback by the Toronto Raptors.

DeRozan and company, by the way, went on to lose in overtime by a score of 109-99.
