(All men must be spoiled, so don’t watch the video or keep reading if you’re not up-to-date on Game Of Thrones.)
Arya Stark is one of the last true badasses on Game Of Thrones right now. She’s going to be doing a lot of training and stabbing in season six, and she’s got a lot of heads to chop and necks to stab before she’s satisfied in her vengeance. She’s basically Beatrix Kiddo but with less jumpsuits and a more believable name. Since season one, Arya has been making a kill list and checking it twice while becoming a honed swordsman. She’s knocked a few names off her wish list, but she still has some of her biggest targets left. Let’s run through who she’s taken out and who’s left (so far, anyway — who knows what names will be added next season).
Joffrey Baratheon (Dead) – Who didn’t want this little bastard dead? Arya demanded revenge on Joffrey because he cruelly ordered her father’s execution. Although Arya didn’t carry out the death herself, the news came as a delight to her and everyone else in the Seven Kingdoms.
Cersei Lannister (Alive) – Arya joins the long list of Westerosi who want the queen mother dead because of her role in Eddard’s death. With Arya blind and in Essos, and Cersei still having a large role to play with FrankenMountain, the little wolf probably won’t get to cross this name off any time soon.
Walder Frey (Alive) – Another big target on her list. Frey betrayed Arya’s family, causing the deaths of her brother, her mother, and countless Stark men. Frey hasn’t had much of a presence in the series since season three, but being such an important figure in the show, it’s also unlikely he’ll meet Needle in season six.
Meryn Trant (Dead) – Probably the most satisfying death she has served so far, Arya showed no mercy in killing the Kingsguard in the season five finale. He earned a spot on the list for his alleged murder of her dancing instructor Serio Forel back in season one. Little does she know that Serio is still alive and is Daario or Euron Greyjoy, or whatever is the current theory out there.
Tywin Lannister (Dead) – While Arya didn’t pull the trigger in Tywin’s commode death, she certainly took solace in it. She wanted him dead because of his role in the destruction of her whole family, only for him to be brought down by his own family.
The Red Woman (Alive) – Arya lists Melassandre because the latter took Gendry, Arya’s friend/King Robert’s bastard. With Stannis the Mannis out of the picture, the Red Woman is hanging with Arya’s half-brother Jon, so it wouldn’t be crazy for the two to cross paths in the next season. Arya will have to be on her A-game though as several others have failed in their attempt on the Red Woman’s life.
Beric Dondarrion and Thoros Of Myr (Alive) – A part of the Brotherhood Without Banners, Beric and Thoros got their names added for giving Gendry to the Red Woman. It’d be nice for Arya and the Brotherhood to find each other again – Arya’s out to show she’s not the little girl she was back when she was just their hostage, so she just might bring the final death to Beric.
Ser Ilyn Payne (Alive) – Payne swung the sword that ended Eddard’s life, so Arya certainly has good reason to want him dead. But with the character missing since then because of the actor’s medical issues, it’s unclear if Arya will be able to return the favor he gave to Ned.
Polliver (Dead) – Needle took Polliver’s life in season four when Arya and the Hound happened upon him and other Clegane men. Finally serving comeuppance after her friend Lommy’s death, Polliver’s stabbing was one of the first steps in Arya’s bloodthirsty journey.
Rorge (Dead) – A last-minute addition to Arya’s Kill List, Rorge was killed soon after she learned his name.
The Mountain/The Hound (Unclear) – Arya left The Hound to die, and the Mountain is basically dead as Qyburn’s zombie soldier. It’s not certain if Arya’s blade will be used against these question marks again.
Here’s Arya reading off the list back in season four. She had so many names to get through back then.
