Move over, My Diet Is Better Than Yours. There’s a new power player added to this month’s slate of awkward television offerings and it’s one that gives the world the Miss Universe reunion it’s been craving/dreading.
Entertainment Tonight reports that Miss Colombia (civilian name: Ariadna Gutierrez) will be visiting Steve Harvey for an interview on his syndicated daytime talk show. On the off-chance you’ve been in cryogenic storage for the past month, this encounter is a bit of a big deal because Harvey mistakenly named Miss Colombia as Miss Universe at last month’s pageant before the crown was clunkily shifted to its actual winner: Miss Philippines. We’re still cringing over that ridiculously uncomfortable moment and we’re steadying ourselves for the aftershocks that might come from this newly established meeting.
Ariadna Gutierrez hinted that a meet-up with the comedian might be in the cards courtesy of a Twitter poll asking if she should do a sit-down interview. Fans seemed bullish on the idea and “Yes” won decisively with a 72% share of the vote.
Guys! What do you think, should I do a sit-down with @IAmSteveHarvey ? 😅#AryNoCrownRequired #ArySpeaksOut

Previous to the reveal of this interview appointment, Harvey told viewers of his non-Feud daytime offering that he’s made an effort to contact Miss Colombia, but didn’t get anything back.
“I’ve had a chance to talk to Miss Philippines. I’ve talked to all the pageant people. I’ve talked to people backstage. Even me and the director had a long talk, but I haven’t been able to reach out and talk to Miss Colombia,” Harvey admitted on Tuesday’s episode of his eponymous talk show. “Now, have I tried? Yes, but have gotten not a response.”
Miss Colombia’s appearance on Steve Harvey’s show will mark their first face-to-face encounter since they made uncomfortable television history together. Will we get a quip, a sketch or a choreographed dance number sending up that Miss Universe moment? Likely, although we won’t know for sure until the episode airs later this month.
