Fenway Park has played host to a lot of things over the past handful of years — a World Series champion, some college football and hockey games, a few big soccer matches, a lot of concerts, a couple last-place AL East teams.
But one of the most unique events to roll through Fenway has to Polartec Big Air, the big air snowboarding and freeskiing U.S. Grand Prix tour event scheduled for next week. There’s currently a 140-foot high ramp constructed right on the field, and it’s created a pretty amazing scene. The ramp is higher than the dang light towers.
The unique setting will be a cool treat for both participants and spectators alike, though the surroundings will probably take some getting used to. The athletes have been taking trial runs this week to get acclimated with the landscape and the ramp itself, and it’s gone a lot smoother for some than others.
