Looks like Phil Collins is finally acting on that comeback of his. The iconic artist had his first proper return era solo show this past Friday night at the Dreaming On The Beach benefit concert at Miami’s Fillmore. The event served as Collins’ first performance in almost six years.
As expected, Collins played all of the hits: “In the Air Tonight,” “Another Day in Paradise,” “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now),” “Take Me Home” and “Easy Lover.” He then closed his seven song set by covering The Temptations’ “My Girl” and Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door.”
Collins’ return was supposed to happen 15 months ago when the recording artist was expected to perform at the same charity event in December 2014. Unfortunately, he canceled at the last minute, citing illness and a poor sound check for the appearance.
Prior to this recent concert, Collins sang two of his songs with students from the Miami Country Day School. Anyways, it’s nice to see that Phil Collins is making a return regardless of that petition that didn’t want him to.
