LeBracolypse Now: LeBron Unfollowed The Cavs’ Twitter Account

We interrupt your day to bring you the most important news story in the history of digital media: LeBron James has unfollowed the Cleveland Cavaliers on Twitter. The discovery was made by Twitter user @kanyecobain, who went onto doesfollow.com and learned that King James no longer follows the Cavs.

This is, of course, meaningless. But considering that every single thing that happens with the Cavaliers gets analyzed, then overanalyzed, then ripped apart from every conceivable angle during our 24-hour news cycle, this is news. It’s unfortunate that people care this much, but the reality is that the Cavaliers are the team that everyone wants to pick apart.

Sure, this is dumb, but a good portion of this has to do with the team itself – there have been reports about whether or not its top players have chemistry with one another on the court, plus LeBron has had weird social media behavior for the last month or so. And if you have LeBron on your team, it means that people will want to rip apart every single thing that happens, because he is LeBron James and that’s just what everyone does.

But come on, everyone. Let’s not read into something as menial as who LeBron does and does not follow on Twitter. Besides, the only professional sports franchise that he follows is the soccer team he owns a minority stake in, Liverpool. Considering that it’s probably too late for him to try his luck at playing center back (He’d be a stopper – Ed), there’s no reason to put that much stock into LeBron’s Twitter account.
