If you went to Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice this weekend, you got a rare treat: A trailer for The Lego Batman Movie that hadn’t yet arrived on the internet. For the five of you who didn’t hit a theater this weekend, though, here’s the new trailer. And we’re not kidding about the Batnipples, either.
One of the nice touches of the trailer is the non-Batman pop-culture references are kept subtle and are actual jokes. For example, the music selection will sound familiar to fans of a certain bowling enthusiast. That said, they do needle the over-reliance on Batman’s, uh, unique psychological hang-ups and the fact that Warner Bros. just seemingly cannot stop making Batman movies no matter how far off the rails they go. We also learn that Will Arnett is not quite done making fun of Alec Baldwin just yet, even though 30 Rock‘s been off the air for three years. Maybe it’s really Devon Banks under that mask.
Oh, and if you’re like me and go crazy looking for songs off movie trailers, let me offer you sweet relief. Between this and Wonder Woman, it looks like we’re going to have an interesting 2017 in superhero movies. The Lego Batman Movie arrives Feb. 10, 2017.
