Fear Not, ‘The Walking Dead’ Blu-Ray Will Feature Negan In All His Profanity-Spewing Glory

Fans have complained about the way AMC handled the season six finale of The Walking Dead with its infuriating cliffhanger ending and ambiguous killing off of one of the survivors, but Jeffery Dean Morgan got off scot-free for his performance of Negan. Like in the comics, Negan was just as imposing on screen as he was on the page, but there was one thing missing: Negan’s tendency to drop that f-bomb.

Thankfully, Greg Nicotero shot two versions of Negan’s heavy game of eeny meeny miny mo. One for the broadcast, and one for the home video release which will be chock full of Negan’s liberal use of curse words.

In an interview with EWWalking Dead executive producer and director Greg Nicotero spilled the brains, er, beans.

“We had to shoot two versions — we had to shoot the Blu-ray version, which had a lot of the swearing and a lot of Negan’s colorful language, and then we had to shoot the broadcast version. So when you get the DVD or the Blu-ray version, that will have the full Negan speech from the graphic novel.”

“I know Jeffrey and I both kind of preferred that version, it just felt better to be able to say swear words.”

Yes, cursing can be a real relief when you’re prepping to bash in the skull of just about anyone.
