Ewan McGregor went on Jimmy Kimmel a few months back and talked a bit about his role in the latest Star Wars film. This was around the time when The Force Awakens had just come out and it was fresh in his mind, with people still going on about the little references hidden throughout the film.
Flash forward to now and The Graham Norton Show. McGregor is back on the promotional trail for Miles Ahead and The Force Awakens comes back into the conversation. The only difference this time is that he barely even remembers what the heck is going on in the film.
He at least remembers recording the lines and how they did it, but I don’t think he’s seen the movie. That or he’s just so damn busy, which is the likely answer you’d get from someone who hasn’t seen the movie yet. Not so much of a fan now, McGregor!
It is cool that they mixed him and Alec Guinness together for the little snippet in the film. You can only hope that this leads to his return in a ghostly form at some point the next two films. His Obi Wan Kenobi is one of the shining parts of the prequel trilogy, even if he is a little dense at times. Far from the wise teacher you see in the original films. Maybe just have him walking by Yoda’s force ghost in the next film, eating a sandwich and not realizing everybody can see him.
