Obviously we here in North America are plenty amped up for the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, but we’re not the only ones being whipped into a lather. The Marvel hype train is set to visit every corner of the globe, and we’ve got some new Chinese and Russian Civil War posters you may want to check out. International promotional materials often provide a slightly different perspective on upcoming blockbusters, and these are certainly interesting.
First up, the Chinese posters, which feature some unique poses we haven’t seen in other posters. It’s also interesting to see which heroes the Chinese chose to highlight. Falcon, Hawkeye and Black Widow get posters, but Iron-Man and Ant-Man, both characters that have had their own movies, aren’t featured.
Here are the Russian posters. Generally during big superhero battles, everybody sort of pairs off with a specific dance partner, and these posters set up those pairings. Most of them make sense – Captain America vs. Iron Man, Winter Soldier vs. Black Widow, Scarlet Witch vs. Vision. Oddly, Black Panther is used twice — once, masked vs. Falcon, and once unmasked vs. Hawkeye. I wonder if that indicates anything, or they just had to use somebody twice because the sides weren’t even. Either way, international audiences definitely seem excited about Black Panther.
Captain America: Civil War hits theaters May 6.
