T.J. Miller Is Up For Multiple ‘Deadpool’ Sequels, And Possibly Even His Own Spin-Off

In recent years, T.J. Miller has established himself as a dependable comedy pinch-hitter. Sure, he’s not the star of Deadpool or Silicon Valley, but he deserves top-billing when it comes to delivering laughs. We know Deadpool 2 is happening, and Ryan Reynolds is, of course, attached, but what about T.J. Miller? The offbeat Deadpool shenanigans just wouldn’t be the same without without Miller’s character Weasel along for the ride.

Well, in a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Miller confirmed that he is returning to the Deadpool/X-Men universe in a surprisingly big way.

Deadpool is not going anywhere anytime soon. I think there’s probably going to be three more installments, a Weasel spin off. I’m contractually obliged to do the cameos in other X-Men universe stuff, so there’s plenty more Deadpool to come.”

Wait, what? Three Deadpool sequels? And a whole Weasel spin-off? I know everybody loves Deadpool, but that might be pushing things a little far. Miller seems serious about it though.

“I’m excited about the prospect of a Weasel spin-off, because he makes this super suit that’s not great. I mean, it just, everything about it is perfect for me. What if the Iron Man suit was sort of budget, like he can’t fly, but he can hover three or four feet.”

To clarify, Miller isn’t saying a Weasel script is locked down yet — he’s just referring to a comic-book storyline that he thinks would make a good Weasel movie. Specifically, the time Weasel built himself some armor and started nobly defending Las Vegas casinos as The House. Eventually Deadpool even becomes Weasel/The House’s sidekick.

Will T.J. Miller actually get his spin-off? I have my doubts, but hey, if Deadpool 2 is as big as the first one, why the hell not? It’s about time the wisecracking sidekicks got their due.
