“My name is Magneto.” Apparently, Erik Lehnsherr still doesn’t get recognized in some parts of the world, despite attempting to assassinate President Nixon on television, because this new clip from X-Men: Apocalypse shows him about to do something terrible to his German co-workers at the spark factory (they just make sparks), as he is fresh out of f*cks to give.
We have to wonder how much of the movie takes place in Germany, considering the clip of Mystique freeing Nightcrawler and Archangel seemed to have also been set there. Speaking of clips, Fox also released this one, titled “Welcome Home, Raven,” where we see Mystique returning to Professor X’s house to train the mutants to fight Apocalypse (Oscar Isaac) and his Four Horsemen, Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Archangel (Ben Hardy), and Psylocke (Olivia Munn).
That’s not all. Fox is out to show us ALL THE MUTANTS. We’ve already seen featurettes for Magneto and Mystique and Storm and Archangel, and now there’s a brief clip of Oscar Isaac talking about Apocalypse.
In the interests of very serious journalism, a Rolling Stone interview (the same one with Star Wars details in it) touched on Oscar Isaac’s directorial advice for Apocalypse:
[…] a performance that director Bryan Singer calibrated by asking for “quarter Skeletor,” “half Skeletor” or “full Skeletor.” Needless to say, “You can fire your arrows from the Tower of Babel, but you can never strike God!” called for full Skeletor.
There’s no way I’m going to be able to watch this movie without trying to guess how much Skeletor made it into each scene. Sidenote, Oscar Isaac can give us the Full Skeletor anytime he likes.
