As actual revenue from record sales and digital streaming dwindles down to all but evaporate, artists often are forced to find creative ways to make money elsewhere and The Game may have just stumbled onto a gold mine. The rapper to took to Instagram announce a partnership with Atari and debut the trailer for his new mobile game Block Wars.
“Proud to announce I am the new @Atari ambassador,” he said in the post. “We have BIG THINGS coming for my fans & #Atari fans across the world in 2016 !!!! Our 1st project is our mobile game & app #BLOCKWARS in collaboration with the creators @im3gamingstudios”
Im3 is the studio behind Meek Mill’s own mobile game Bike Wars, so they have history working with rappers and the urban market. The trailer seemingly doesn’t show any gameplay, instead choosing to set the tone for Block Wars, which Game says is “For mature audiences only.”
Judging by Game’s posts before the trailer where he says “#FuckMobileStrike” it’s likely the game is a real-time strategy along the lines of Mobile Strike or Clash of Clans, just accentuated with “gangsta” themes and mature content.
Game offered no release date for Block Wars but he did say one would be announced soon. Only time will tell if it’s better than 50 Cent: Bulletproof.
