Axl Rose Reveals Guns N’ Roses Are Working On New Music

Axl Rose confirmed that the reunited Guns N’ Roses are in it for more than just lucrative concert paychecks. The band is actually working on new music.

During a Q&A session at the China Exchange in London, Rose revealed that he’s hammering out some new tunes with Duff McKagan and Slash.

“We are working on new stuff. I’ve got a lot of stuff together, and I played some stuff for Slash and Duff and they liked it,” he said.

Outside of new music, Rose revealed that he plans to keep the current lineup of GN’R running “for quite a while,” and he praised his fellow bandmates for picking up the Chinese Democracy material so quickly.

“I didn’t have to tell Slash anything about embracing, or how to play the Chinese Democracy songs. He just embraced them. He worked really hard,” he said. “The last times we talked, he said, ‘I don’t want to work that hard.’ For him to take on Buckethead’s parts and step into it on his own and work on it and enjoy it, that helped a lot.”

Axl also offered a brief glimpse into how the notoriously antagonistic duo finally got back to speaking terms. Apparently, Rose called Slash up back in 2015 and the two had it out over details in Slash’s autobiography.

“Slash and I hadn’t talked in 19 years, and it was a good talk,” he said. “And I was like, ‘You wrote a lot of stuff that didn’t even happen. It’s not real.”
