It was all good a few months ago. At least that appears to be the case for Tyga and the tiger he was keeping for a pet. Now, the animal is in the custody of a a nonprofit sanctuary that claims the rapper’s been lax in helping pay for the animal’s upkeep.

The Lions, Tigers and Bears rescue organization contends Tyga has neglected to help with the animal’s costly upkeep. The sanctuary came into possession of the tiger back in April when T-Raw ran afoul of the law for keeping the animal as a pet, a misdemeanor offense in California. As a result, he had the choice of facing the charges or giving up the animal. Obviously, he chose the latter and hasn’t looked back since, according to claims by the sanctuary.

“Founder and director Bobbi Brink tells TMZ … it costs more than $10k a year just to feed a 500lb tiger like Maverick, plus there are vet costs, flea control and general maintenance. She says they rely on public donations to cover costs.

We’re told the rapper hasn’t so much as said thanks to the facility.”

For any concerned animal lovers, the feline is actually doing fine. It’s new name is Maverick and, gauging by the video below, Mav’s taken to his new home quite well.
