UPROXX 20: Jeff Foxworthy Really, Really Likes Collecting Arrowheads


You might be a redneck if you know who Jeff Foxworthy is. That, or a fan of the quiz show he hosted from 2007 to 2015 on Fox, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? The comedian is probably best known for his stand-up, especially 2003’s Blue Collar Comedy Tour. In that spirit, Foxworthy returns to the stage with Blue Collar alum Larry the Cable Guy for Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy: We’ve Been Thinking, which premieres August 26 exclusively on Netflix.

Jeff was nice enough to take a few minutes out of his busy schedule recently to answer a few questions from us.

1. You walk into a bar. What do you order from the bartender?

Sam Adams.

2. Who’s your favorite person to follow on Twitter and/or Instagram?

Larry the Cable Guy! (@GitRDoneLarry)

3. What’s currently waiting for you on your DVR?

Luther. It’s a BBC series.

4. It’s your last meal — what are you going out with?

Kentucky Fried Chicken.

5. What websites do you visit on a regular basis?

There’s an “Artifact Addiction” I go to all the time. I love arrowheads.

6. What’s the most frequently played song on your mobile device?

Van Morison’s “Brown Eyed Girl,” which just happens to be my wife’s ring tone on my phone.

7. If you could go back and give your 18-year-old self one piece of advice, what would it be?

Character counts.

8. What’s the last thing you Googled?

Dawg Nation.

9. Dogs or cats?

Dogs.

10. Best concert of your life was…?

U2’s 360 Tour.


11. What book are you most likely to give as a gift?

Probably one of my own… I have thousands of copies of them in my basement.

12. What’s the nicest thing anyone has ever done for you?

My wife had my children.

13. South Park or Family Guy?

Family Guy.

14. You have an entire day to do whatever you want. What would you do?

I have a farm, so I would spend about two hours looking for arrowheads, three hours on my tractor, and another two hours bow hunting. Then dinner with my wife and finish the day off with my dogs Marty and Wendell sitting in my lap.

15. What movie can you not resist watching if it’s on?

Anchor Man and Coal Miner’s Daughter. Its a straight up tie!

16. The sports team or teams you’re most passionate about?

Atlanta Braves, Kansas City Royals, Georgia Football and the Atlanta Falcons.

17. Where did you eat the best meal of your life?

There was a restaurant in Florence, Italy I just loved… but I can’t remember the name!

18. The last movie you saw in a theater?

I don’t remember, but the next movie I want to see is Hell or High Water.

19. Who was your first celebrity crush?

Marlo Thomas (That Girl).

20. What would you cook if Nic Cage was coming to your house for dinner?

Mrs. Paul’s Crunchy Fish Sticks.
