Netflix is soon adding Luke Cage to their Marvel slate along with Daredevil and Jessica Jones. Along with those three, we’ll also soon be binging Netflix’s The Defenders and Iron Fist. Now Netflix is helping with some of those post-holiday blahs with an exciting clip from Luke Cage.
We’ve already seen the moving trailer and a funny teaser where Cage laments having to replace his clothes all the time (being bulletproof does have a downside). We also saw the Comic-Con sizzle reel, which this clip ties in to. The clip shows more of the graphic scene where a guy tries to punch Luke Cage, and, well, as you can see in this very graphic GIF (pardon the redundancy), it doesn’t end well for the wannabe tough guy:
Sweet Christmas, that’s gotta hurt.
It’s also good to see an actor react like he actually just broke some bones and is in pain, instead of the typical action scene where a side character half-asses his reaction like he’s too good for a small role and needs the audience to know he’s not committed to it. This actor gets it right. You just shattered your hand and wrist; by all means scream in pain and fear, like a real person would. Luke Cage is a bad ass. You do not want some of that.
Luke Cage takes back the neighborhood on September 30th.
