Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters this December, so of course that means stores will soon be flooded with all manner of Rogue One-related toys and collectibles. We’ll be inundated with traditional ads for these toys soon enough, but for the time being, Lucasfilm has teamed up with talented Star Wars fans (who also happen to be animation industry veterans) to create Star Wars Go Rogue, a Robot Chicken-esque adventure featuring all the new Rogue One playthings.
In the first episode of Star Wars Go Rogue, action figure Jyn Erso evaded minifig stormtroopers to get her hands on the plans for the Lego Death Star. In this second episode, Funko Pop Director Krennic tries to build the Lego Death Star without the plans (it doesn’t go so well), while Jyn and her plastic Rebel pals do battle with a “giant” 20-inch stormtrooper figure. I’ll admit, I’m not a “shelves full of toys” kind of nerd, but these chunks of plastic are certainly a lot nicer than the ones we had back in the day.
There are still two more Star Wars Go Rogue chapters to come – will the Rebels recover the full Death Star plans? Will your kid see one of these videos, leading you to financial ruin? You’ll have to wait to find out.
